Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 26, 2026
John W. Reddall CPA LLC (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “the Firm”) operates the website jreddallcpa.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors of the Site — it does not describe how we handle information you provide directly to us as an engaged client outside the website (that information is governed by our client engagement letter and by the confidentiality standards CPAs are required to follow).
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
When you submit a contact form, call our office, or email us, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to your inquiry and, if you become a client, to begin the engagement process. We do not collect Social Security numbers, EINs, bank information, or financial documents through the Site itself; those are exchanged through secure, offline channels once an engagement begins.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring site, and general location (city/region level). This is collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies, described below.
2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use the following tools, each of which may place cookies or similar technologies on your device:
- Google Analytics (GA4) — helps us understand how visitors use the Site (pages viewed, time on site, general location, device type). Google’s privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google Ads — we run paid search advertising and use conversion tracking and remarketing to measure ad performance and show relevant ads to past visitors on other sites.
- Google Business Profile — interactions with our Google Business listing may be tracked in connection with our advertising and analytics.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of personalized Google advertising at adssettings.google.com or through the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info. Turning off cookies may limit some Site functionality but will not affect our ability to provide accounting services to you as a client.
We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, as no common industry standard exists for how to interpret them.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to inquiries and schedule consultations
- Communicate with prospective and current clients
- Measure and improve the Site and our advertising
- Comply with legal and professional obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use website visitor data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Site and our advertising (e.g., our web host, Google Analytics, Google Ads) — each bound by their own privacy and data-processing terms
- Legal authorities, if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Firm or others
We do not sell or rent visitor information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain contact form and inquiry information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and for a limited period afterward for our records, unless you request earlier deletion. Client records (once an engagement exists) are retained according to the recordkeeping requirements applicable to CPA firms and tax preparers, which are longer than typical website data.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Nevada residents: Nevada law (NRS 603A) gives you the right to opt out of the sale of certain covered information we may collect through the Site. We do not sell your covered information, and we do not intend to. If you’d like to submit a verified request regarding this anyway, you may email us at [insert privacy contact email].
California residents: Depending on the information involved, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) to know, delete, or correct personal information we hold, and to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.
All visitors: You may email us at any time to ask what information we hold about you from your Site interactions, or to request that it be deleted, subject to any records we’re legally required to keep.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect information collected through the Site. As CPAs and tax preparers, our handling of client financial information (once you’re a client) is also subject to the FTC Safeguards Rule under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which requires a written information security program — this governs client data generally, not just what’s collected through the website.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for business owners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to other websites (e.g., IRS.gov, resource pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites — please review their policies separately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
